And although we encourage members to load up their USPS Flat Rate Boxes with as many gently worn pieces of clothing as possible, sometimes you might find you have a stand-alone item that's too awesome to be one among many.
Be it that perfect prom dress worn once on that special night, a Halloween costume, a jacket or an adorable Paul Smith size 24 months white splash print silk dress your equally adorable, yet growing toddler outgrew faster than a speeding bullet -- if it's something special and it fits in a flat rate box -- then PLEASE post your single item and grab some points!
Remember to make sure your single item is of value higher than the cost of shipping or it might not be appealing to other members. And, as always, only list items you'd let your own kids wear, free of stains, tears and fading.
Here are some other guidelines for listing clothes.
Double Dutchery depends on a strong member-based community. We expect all members to be honest and fair when rating orders. A negative rating given when it is not deserved can really damage a member's reputation. On the other hand, it's never OK to abuse the system and list items of unacceptable quality.
If you find that someone has unfairly rated your box contents and you'd like to dispute the review, please message the member and try to resolve the situation. However, if you find this approach to be unsuccessful, send a Private Message to the site admin and we will help figure out the problem.
Yes, and you are encouraged to do so provided the box is in excellent shape. This will save you time and, hey, it's good for the environment. Kudos to you and your awesomely eco-friendly self!
If you don't need the box for that purpose may we encourage you to find some other way to reuse your box?

The buyer pays for shipping and handling. The seller pays nothing.
For uniformity of costs we require all clothing be shipped by the seller in a small, medium, or large USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box which are available free at your Postal Office or online. We strongly encourage sellers to acquire boxes from USPS prior to listing boxes on Double Dutchery. Having a box on hand will allow sellers to experiment with how many pieces of clothing they can fit in a box before listing, and will enable quick shipping to the buyer once the shipping label is received.
When a buyer places an order we'll mail a pre-paid shipping label to the seller which is then attached to the box and handed off to USPS.
The buyer pays $6 handling + shipping. The total cost for each size box is:
- Small box: $11.10
- Medium box: $16.65
- Large box: $20.80
The most important things to remember when listing a box is clothing should be in top-quality condition -- meaning clean, unfaded and free of tears and stains. Damaged clothing will not be tolerated! Please keep in mind clothing held to a this standard will be chosen a lot quicker. Don't list items you wouldn't expect your own children to wear. And the more items in a box, the better.
We want to keep shipping costs consistent for everyone regardless of package weight. And a whole lot of clothing can fit inside small, medium and large USPS Flat Rate boxes.
No. Please make sure a box you list contains items of the same size. Your box will be chosen faster as most people are looking for clothing their kids can wear right now.
